What is Utilization Management?

UM is more than focusing on reducing excessive utilization of healthcare services and unnecessary costs. The AultCare UM team advocates for our members to receive the quality care they need.

As an AultCare member needing UM assistance, a UM nurse is the member’s personal advocate. All healthcare services are reviewed for quality and cost efficiency by the nurse. By thoroughly reviewing treatment requests, the UM nurse ensures the member will not receive unnecessary procedures, ineffective treatment, or avoidable extensive hospital stays.

AultCare’s UM Team goes above and beyond what is expected to educate members on their choices, ultimately leaving the members feeling empowered to make decisions about their healthcare needs.
